CYANOTYPE: MATERIAL AND SENSIBILITY

Audience Toute personne souhaitant améliorer sa pratique

This exciting weekend will literally plunge participants into the heart of enjoyable, simple processes and the magic of watching photographic prints emerge from light (and some harmless chemicals).

They will travel back in time, alternating between rudimentary 19th-century techniques and contemporary computer tools.

The course will thoroughly cover the technical principles of cyanotype and ferric ammonium citrate before quickly turning to more aesthetic and sometimes resolutely poetic matters.

The photography will re-establish a relationship with material and research based on expressing a vision and sensibility, spurring creativity with small personal experiences.

Participants will create a series of interrelated personal prints, giving us a glimpse into their unique ways of seeing.

They will receive individual guidance in using various tools and making aesthetic choices. The range of possibilities combines Prussian blue, frames, photograms, more or less controlled surprises, "virage au thé", support, tips, emulsified paper, contrast, UV rays, two-colored printing, scanners and, more broadly, sensibility and sharing points of view.

By the end of the course, the acquisition of tools and consumables will enable participants to reproduce the processes they used, allowing them to pursue their work.
